Headed up by Aussie wine legend Steve Grimley, the Five O’Clock Somewhere project is a team of craftspeople and creatives who happen to also love a drop of quality wine. From their winery and shops they produce small batches of everything from bikes and surfboards to furniture and paintings, olive oil, and (of course) wine.
5OS are experimental and fearless in their winemaking, producing bold, fruity wines that have quickly become customer favourites here at Virgin Wines. Starting its life as an idea at Steve Grimley’s kitchen table in 2005, 5OS produced its very first Shiraz just a year later under the name Loom (a name Grimley still uses now for one of his side projects). In the 5OS range you’ll find lusciously smooth reds made from Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Barbera, and Grenache – grape varieties which famously thrive in the sunny Aussie climate.
With a talent for turning out juicy, complex reds, and eye-catching bottle artwork created by the artists and graphic designers in their team, the 5OS team has created a colourful and exciting range that deserves all the hype it gets. No wonder these super-flavoursome, small-batch wines in quirky bottles have become collectable items.
