We love rosé cocktails! Rosé wine works an absolute treat as a cocktail ingredient. Not only do you get some gorgeous fruit flavours, the colour makes them look as good as they taste.
Whilst we are advocates of drinking rosé in all seasons, rosé cocktails are so refreshing that they really do go hand in hand with hot, sunny days. So, why not shake things up this summer by replacing your usual warm-weather concoctions with refreshing rosé wine cocktails?
Makes 2 servings
To make: Start with 30ml of simple syrup – you can buy this ready-made or make it yourself by heating up equal amounts of water and white granulated sugar until the sugar dissolves. Pop the syrup in a shaker with plenty of ice and a squeeze of lemon juice. Add 60ml of gin and give it a good shake.
To serve: Pour equally between 2 Champagne flutes then fill to the top with the sparkling rosé. We like to garnish it with some small flowers, but a thin slice of lemon looks just as elegant.
The perfect rosé to use: A dry sparkling rosé is what you need for this cocktail. We heartily recommend our Senti Prosecco Rosé.
Makes 1 serving
To make: Put 25ml of vodka, a squeeze of lemon juice, 15ml of simple syrup and a blackberry into a cocktail shaker and give it a stir. Add some ice cubes and a mint leaf or basil leaf (whichever you’d prefer) and give it a good shake. Add about 90ml of rosé wine.
To serve: Strain into a tall glass with fresh ice. Garnish with another herb leaf and a blackberry.
The perfect rosé to use: A classic pale pink French rosé such as the Les Arbousiers Coteaux du Languedoc Cinsault Grenache Rosé.
Makes 6 servings
To make: Cut up an orange and around 400g of fresh strawberries, pop them into your pitcher, stir in 2 tablespoons of sugar and leave for around 30 minutes at room temperature. Stir in a whole bottle of chilled rosé wine and 75ml of brandy. Slice up half a lemon and add this in together with a handful of mint leaves. Stir all together and pop in the fridge for 1-4 hours.
To serve: Pop into big glasses with a few ice cubes. Make sure to include some fruit in each glass. Top up with a little sparkling water or soda water if desired.
The perfect rosé to use: Something Spanish and fruit-forward, such as our Finca Manzanos Rioja Rosado.
Makes 6 servings
To make: Combine a bottle of rosé, 400g chopped strawberries, 2tbsp lemon juice and about 1kg of ice in a blender and blend until it’s the consistency of a slushie. Depending on the size of the blender you use you may need to divide this into batches. If you like yours with more of a kick then add 60ml of vodka.
To serve: Pour into glasses and garnish with some chopped up fresh strawberries. This one also works well with a touch of mint to finish.
The perfect rosé to use: A full-bodied, deep pink rosé such as our Blackfoot Daisy Rosé.
Makes 1 serving
To make: Put 30ml of silver tequila into a shaker along with 30ml of simple syrup and a squeeze of lime juice. Shake well for 30 seconds.
To serve: Pour into a glass edged with salt, and stir in 120ml of your chosen rosé wine.
The perfect rosé to use: We would go with something super crisp and dry like the Chateau Bernot Rosé.
Makes 6 servings
To make: Mix a bottle of rosé with 150ml of Elderflower Liqueur (such as The Bitter Truth Elderflower Liqueur) and 3 tbsp of lemon juice.
To serve: Pop some ice into your glasses then strain the mixture equally between them. Top up with soda water, sparkling water or lemonade. Garnish with a small wedge of lime and some mint.
The perfect rosé to use: Something dry but full of bright fruit flavours, like the 16 Little Black Pigs Rosé.
Makes 4 servings
To make: Take a scoop of raspberry sorbet and pop into the bottom of a Champagne flute. Add in 25ml of grenadine then fill the glass to the top with the pink Champagne.
To serve: Garnish with fresh raspberries on cocktail sticks across the top each glass.
The perfect rosé to use: This is already quite sweet so a dry rosé Champagne works best, for example the Champagne J.M.Gobillard et Fils Brut Rosé.
