New Summer Wine Menu at Virgin Holidays

Virgin Holidays are offering a range of trips across the globe this summer, but the focus in their v-room experience this season is very much on their wine tour regions – South Africa, USA and France. For the new summer menu we’ve swapped out the Long Yarn Sparkling Shiraz that featured in our winter menu for the fresh and fruity Domaine Baumard Cremant De Loire Carte Corail Rosé, a delicate and peachy sparkling blush from France that’s utterly perfect for those long sunny evenings.

This time we’re also featuring a non-alcoholic fizz option for the first time. The Fritz Muller Zero Alcohol Frizzante 2017 is a semi-sparkling tipple that’s full of crisp apple and zesty lemon aromas. The winemaker has used cutting edge technology to remove the alcohol without touching the aromas and flavours of the wine itself. It’s a great find, and a delicious alternative to the Kuehn Cremant d’Alsace Brut Cuvee Prestige from France that also features.

We’ve introduced award-winning wines like the Billy Bosch Western Cape Reserve Shiraz 2018, a superb classic Cape Shiraz that’s bright and cheery with masses of energy and deeper notes of spice and coffee. Then there’s Nadia’s Pure Sauvignon Blanc 2018, also from Western Cape, which is a bright and zippy white that balances vibrant, tropical flavours, and really lets you immerse yourself in the fantasy of relaxing by a beach with a fruity tipple in hand.

From USA we’ve chosen the mighty Intrepid Bear Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2014, a rich and decadent oaked red bursting with classic cassis flavours, ideal for pairing with a spicy curry. Our American white wine choice is the Kunde Sonoma County Chardonnay from California, a delicious wine with dairy notes on the nose and a citrus lead palate, that goes very well with seafood and grilled chicken.
