Nyra Roditis Muscat
First up is an irresistible Greek white that you’ll love if you enjoy a zesty Sauvignon Blanc or a crisp Pinot Grigio. The native Roditis grape bursts with bright peach, passionfruit and lemon drop flavours, beautifully balanced by subtle mineral notes and refined elegance.
Named after the Greek nymph of flowing water, it’s effortlessly crisp with a whisper of minerality on the finish, making it wonderful with seafood or salads loaded with olives and feta.
Bella Perla Pinot Grigio delle Venezie DOC
Crafted in the Veneto region, this is a classic, crisp and vibrant Italian Pinot Grigio with effortless charm. Light and easy drinking, it’s an absolute must for your summer wine rack.
Fresh and fruity with notes of pear, green apple and lemon zest, this is wonderfully versatile. Ideal for light lunches, casual evenings and spontaneous get-togethers.
Belmonte Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc
No summer wine list would be complete without a Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. This delicious drop is made next door to the famous Cloudy Bay wine estate, meaning it shares the same climate and terroir. Just as tasty and fruity, but a fraction of the price of its neighbour.
A classic style with bold flavours of grapefruit, elderflower and passionfruit, this is a zingy white with a refreshingly crisp finish. Sip on its own or savour with Thai cuisine or a goat’s cheese salad.
Passeggiata IGP Sicilia Carricante
Another of our best white wines for summer is this Sicilian dream made from Carricante, an indigenous Italian grape that’s grown almost exclusively on the volcanic slopes of Mount Etna. The limestone-rich terroir in the vineyards gives this white a thirst-quenching, refreshing finish.
Expect subtle floral notes with a touch of ripe stone fruit, a big hit of fresh citrus and a lovely mineral edge. It’s a great all-rounder but pairs superbly well with chicken in all its guises.
Curious Parallel Fetească Alba
You may not have thought to try wine from Romania before, but that’s about to change. Made by the Cotnari estate, who are pioneering Romanian wine by focusing solely on native grape varieties, this is an intriguing alternative to Pinot Grigio or Albariño.
Juicy stone fruits on the nose are complemented by refreshing citrus and a hint of rose on the palate. Serve chilled alongside your favourite chicken dish, fish and chips or paella.
Le Zeitgeist Côtes de Thau Piquepoul
A fresh and elegant Piquepoul from the sunny south of France, this clean and crisp wine captures the essence of the Mediterranean. Grown just beyond the boundary of the renowned Picpoul de Pinet region, these coastal vines produce a vibrant, breezy white that is as expressive as it is refreshing.
Bursting with zesty citrus flavours and green apple before a mineral finish, this is sensational with all types of seafood.
Astro Costera Reserve Semillon
This flawless Chilean Semillon is made from low-yielding old vines in Apalta, where gentle maritime breezes moderate the climate and allow complexity to develop in the grapes.
With fresh aromatics, a clean, lemony kick and classic varietal weight, it’s a fabulous choice if you enjoy a white wine that’s a little more powerful and intense.
Kraft des Landes Grüner Veltliner
If you like Sauvignon Blanc, you’ll enjoy Grüner Veltliner. This Austrian white is crisp, dry and refreshing with flavours of lemon, lime and ripe stone fruit. There’s a bit of weight to the palate, along with this grape’s signature spice, but then the freshness comes right back around to brighten up the finish.
This fruit-driven white is a great one for outdoor drinking and works very nicely as an aperitif at alfresco get-togethers. One of the best white wines for summer in our opinion!
Dr. Loosen L Riesling Dry
An aromatic, dry Germany Riesling that captures the elegant and racy characteristics of the steep, slate-soil Mosel vineyards. Packed full of crunchy green apple and citrus vim, this is a harmonious, beautifully balanced wine.
Offering just the right amount of fruitiness and mouth-watering acidity, it pairs beautifully with fresh fish and creamy chicken dishes.
L’Ornato Custoza DOC
Finally, we have a stunning Italian white that captures the spirit of Lake Garda. Fresh, lively and full of character, it’s a unique blend of four native grape varieties; Cortese, Garganega, Trebbiano Toscano and Incrocio Manzoni. The result is a wine full of energy, balance and pure Italian style.
Crisp citrus, ripe orchard fruit and floral notes lead to a long, clean mineral finish, leaving you reaching for another glass. Crack this one open with seafood, shellfish or a plate of pasta and savour the flavours of Italy at home.
