California Wines: Adventurous Winemakers of The Golden State

When it comes to thinking about wine from the states, the chances are that California is the first place that springs to mind. And rightly so. With an area greater than the size of Italy, California is by far the biggest wine producing region in the US, and is also, in fact, the fourth largest wine producer in the world.

The sheer size of the state brings with it a diverse landscape and a whole host of microclimates, resulting in a varied and fascinating wine scene. From the cooler, rugged northern areas to the sun-soaked, warmer southern regions, it’s time to discover all that this region has to offer.
