This wine is a real find for those of you who like fully mature red wines. Not only is this a decade old, it is also still vibrant and cherry red in the glass and bursting with fruit on the nose and palate. With Merlot, Cabernet and the Riojan varietal Graciano, adding some romance and 'je ne sais quoi', making up the constituent parts of this blend, there is some beautiful teamwork on the go here in this mellow, cultured red.
We understand wine as the culmination of a process that begins with the grape. We take painstaking efforts to bring out the most distinguishing characteristics of each vineyard. We select the best grapes, harvest them at the right moment and handle the bunches with the greatest care. During the process of elaboration, with the pressing of the grapes, temperature control and remounting, we maximize the aromas and the concentration of polyphenoles. For the ageing process we choose the best wood for each wine.
Navarra is a wonderful part of Spain in the foothills of the Pyrenees that has a long history of making great wines. The vineyards of this highly regarded producer lie on the gentle limestone-based soil slopes within the tiny sub-region of Valdizarbe. The total production accounts for a very small part of Navarra's total output, but good things come in small packages, so they say!
Type: Grenache / Garnacha blend
Everybody is hiding a little darkness inside, as is the case with the smooth, decadent and dark fruited core of this wine from Pezenas. Created from fruit of vibrant vines in the ideal slate terroir of the Languedoc - this is a bite worth taking.
Type: Syrah / Shiraz blend
This unique wine is packed with sweet fruit and spice that delivers an aromatic and lush style. The Cape master winemaker Nico Vermeulen created this wine using only the best vineyards for a Shiraz Viognier blend - well worth a try!
Type: Grenache / Garnacha
This illustrates the joyous style that is 100% Garnacha. It's a young, vibrant Garnacha that really doesn't taste like what Rioja ought to, but has seen a surge in popularity in recent times.
