The Wine

Country of origin:

France

Region:

Rhône - Châteauneuf-du-Pape

This is lavish wine, but really does have a reserve that we also found in the man himself. It feels very natural and very pure. Nothing ostentatious, like some bruising Châteauneuf's, but a great focus and character. One of our favourites.

The Winemaker

Fabrice Brunel
Winemaker:

Fabrice Brunel

Fabrice Brunel, son of legendary winemaker André, heads up the team at this fantastic Châteauneuf estate. A winery renowned for producing a range of exceptional wines that are marked by an elegance on the palate that many other producers in the region forgo in a quest for out and out power. A fabulous winery that we've enjoyed a long working relationship with and their wines, from the bottom up, come highly recommended.

"The dominant aromas of red fruits are enhanced by a woody touch from the barrel-contained Syrah grapes. A great taste of red fruits, leather and undergrowth. The tannins are harmonious and elegant. Long finish in the mouth allowing for even more complex aromas of undergrowth, leather ... the wine allies strength and elegance, complexity of secondary aromas while keeping a fruity freshness." - Dave Roberts, Wine Buyer.
