La Mancha, south of Madrid, is one of the largest vineyard areas in the world. Amongst the countless vines is some seriously good fruit, but you need to know the lay of the land if you're to get your hands on it. This is where Juan Ramon and his winemaker, Alberto, come in. Incumbents of the region's wine scene, they have access to the best and that's what they reserve for this Gran Reserva, led by 80% Tempranillo and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and then given the age it deserves, resulting in a soft, warming yet complex red perfect for the winter months.
