Once, I asked a trade professional to taste a Pinotage at a trade tasting. I asked later had he liked it. He replied, "It smelled like Pinotage, so I didn't try it". That was fair at the time. Now, our Cape buddies have learned how to do this South African peculiarity very well, in this case very, very well. It's the best Pinotage we have ever tasted. It's got lovely lift, juicy fruit on the palate and a freshness that goes on and on. It's rare too, so press the button, we only got 36 bottles.
