Riesling

Riesling has been regarded as one of the greatest white grape varieties in the world for some time. It originates from, and is most widely grown in, Germany – where it is the undisputed king of the vineyards. On the vine, Riesling grapes are light-skinned and relatively small, forming tight bunches that help them withstand cool climates and frosty conditions. In fact, Riesling grapes are typically more suited to the cooler old-world wine regions, though a handful of new world locations are producing some quality styles as well. The most impressive thing about Riesling is its ability to maintain its unmistakable fruity character and express terroir, across the diverse range of styles it can be produced in. There is a style of Riesling to suit any person or occasion, but you always know it’s Riesling!
