It's a wonderful thing when a good idea is exported and becomes something not only different, but just a little better too. So it is here, with our Down Under version of the Italian classic that we are all addicted to. This has turned out beautifully, sporting lovely lemon-fresh fruit with crisp-apple vitality, born in the spirit of the La Dolce Vita, and ready to be drunk as an aperitif or with white fish.
Steve Grimley has vast winemaking experience that spans 3 continents and an unbridled energy that has seen his small, family-owned winery quickly establish an enviable reputation. He's passionate about Single Vineyards and the personalities involved within them and constantly seeking unique parcels of fruit to further expand our bulging portfolio of wines. His immense knowledge of the great wines of the world ensures the continued evolution of our range and is the fuel from which our fire is lit.
"To me, a truly great wine is more about the sizzle than the sausage. I grew up in the Barossa, so wine's pretty much part of your culture from day one. Given our type of business, the styles of wine we make and my individual personality, all these combine to drive us down the 'winemaking way of one'. It's easy to manipulate, but when you leave things alone they just represent what they are - the variety, origin and working patterns, stored in a bottle." - Steve Grimley
Type: Chardonnay blend
A brilliant blend that is not just restricted to Oz: winemakers all over the globe are harnessing the power of neutral-but-fresh Chardonnay and super-aromatic Viognier to create rich, yet harmonious blends. The Chardonnay provides a lovely backbone, (the bones if you like) while the Viognier supplies the exotic flesh.
A very good, well-priced alternative to Chablis. It may not have the kudos, nor the plaudits, but that's exactly why it doesn't share the high price. It matches Chablis stylistically - freshness, weight, an ability to age and a liking for good seafood. An affordable peer to the legendary French region.
This top customer favourite is a foodies dream. The divine citrus freshness and zesty exterior is the perfect match for a risotto, we suggest mushroom. If you are feeling a bit adventurous, pairing it with oysters is sublime.
