The Wine

Country of origin:

Italy

Region:

Campania

Mastroberardino is one of the leading wineries and wine families in all of Italy in terms of production, innovation and market impact. This is one single family with a winemaking history which dates back to the early 18th century, over 10 generations, and which is largely responsible for the viticultural success of Campania's remote Irpinia area. This Aglianico blend is a testament to their passion and commitment.

The Winemaker

Massimo Di Renzo
Winemaker:

Massimo Di Renzo

Massimo has always been passionate about wine; as a child he remembers taking part in the traditional practice of foot treading grapes with his family. Today he is passionate about remaining faithful to varietal expression while staying true to the terroir. He is especially fond of Greco as he claims that it is a varietal that challenges him the most with each harvest.

"This wine has aromas of blackberries and wild black cherries, known locally as 'amarene'. There is both firm structure and velvety softness on the palate, with flavours of dark berries, almonds and black pepper." - Massimo Di Renzo, Winemaker.
