The Wine The Wine
Australia
Region:McLaren Vale
The vineyard for this tiny cuvée is located on the plateau that is Aldinga and Willunga. It's more like a few rows of vines within the vineyard, in the McLaren Vale. The variety is Italian as is the man behind the project. Domenico's Lopresti migrated to Oz back in 1966, but it wasn’t until 1983 that he set up his estate. Famous, among the right winemaking circles, for innovation and cultivating some of the best fruit South Australia has to offer. Obviously the guys at 5oS have their finger on the pulse of great fruit so it is no surprise to us they have made a varietal Sagrantino that is packed with fruit character and intrigue.
