The Wine The Wine
Chile
Region:Aconcagua Valley
This wine was born when winemaker Brent King enthused about these amazing vineyards next to the Pacific over in Chile's Leyda region so we visited in January to see why he was so excited. He outlined his plan, showing us five little plots he'd highlighted as the best . This wine is all about taking something very special and turning it into very limited volume, super special wine. Brilliantly bright in the glass, super juicy with elegance aplenty. Burgundy of this quality would be a load more cash.

Brent King
The Winemaker
Born and bred in Hawkes Bay, New Zealand, Brent studied as a winemaker in his native land and then furthered his education in Australia where, like many kiwis from the island nation, the travel bug took hold and his fascination with the world of wine and adventure began. His passions are red winemaking and getting projects up and running, keeping an eye on quality and making every glass count. In Brent's spare time he is often to be found practising the art of Barbecuing whilst having a glass of red with family and friends discussing his love of rugby and the finer arts of steak cuisine. He has a strong interest in property development and has been known as a serial renovator and has a habit of lifting and moving houses.
"Lovely swathe of oak holds this very fine and fruitful Pinot together beautifully, cherry and red fruit are so precise and fresh, pin-bright but very classy too." Dave Roberts, Wine Buyer.
