Type: Nero d'Avola
Price: £8.99 each
Sicily is a great hunting ground for those seeking great wine, without daft price tags. It is uncommonly warm and is consistently massaged by Mediterranean winds. The styles that result are rich and decadent but with Bruno Fina behind the helm, he has created a refreshing spring in its step.
Type: Grillo
Price: £8.99 each
When the Marsala industry sadly collapsed ancient vineyards were ripped up, gnarled bush vines thrown onto fires like broken instruments, their song silenced by the ravages of fashion. A few managed to avoid this fate. Bruno Fina found two: one right down by the sea with soil so sandy it's a miracle the vines grow at all, and one higher in the hills above Trapani. Realising what a fascinating resource he'd found, Bruno lost no time coaxing the vines back into production and these vines can now sing again.
Type: Nero d'Avola
Price: £8.99 each
Offering vibrant cherry fruit and a mass of energy, as you would expect from such a youthful wine, this juice screams one, and only one, style of cuisine. Wines with bright red fruit, perky acidity and a real drive on the palate adore creamy, cheesy, meaty or tomato rich sauces. Palazzo, with its generous flavours and cheery demeanour, will lap up Italian 'cucina' like nothing else.

Type: Pinot Grigio blend
Price: £7.99 each
This is a Pinot Grigio that reaches the peaks that most Pinot Grigios cannot. It is from the rolling hills of Italy, in the northern cooler region, and shines not only because there's some great Pinot Grigio fruit, but also because it's got a good dollop of freshly brewed Garganega, added for extra weight and sensuality. This wine is lightly aromatic with ripe citrus and baked apple characters, and a soft, honeyed sweetness from the aforementioned bedfellow. And what a great couple they make.
Type: Dolcetto
Price: £8.99 each
With bright blueberry fruit and a twist of liquorice on the nose this is a really lively fellow and I adore its energy and vitality in the glass. If you haven't ever tasted a Dolcetto then jump at the chance to have a go at this one. It is a cheeky, refreshing red with an irreverent air and a wonderful sense of well-being.

Type: Muscat
Price: £8.49 each
Sometimes it's good to strip away the trappings and go back to basics. This exquisite Muscat needs to be sipped for the sheer pleasure of drinking wine. Clean and tasting of grapes, its honest simplicity makes it a lovely all-rounder. It's all about appreciating the simple things in life, and this cold-pressed undemanding beauty, made especially for us by Claudio Manera, is definitely worth everyone's appreciation, including Vegans.
