A powerful wine, which still retains a smoothness and subtlety of flavour, something not achieved by so many big Aussie reds!
Great for when you need a good everyday drinking wine with a little more oomph and the perfect partner for many types of meat, including beef.
Made by a small cooperative of farmers on the sun-drenched slopes outside Wellington using only premium quality grapes, meaning you get quality and value.
We Say...
This big smooth wine is a brilliant choice for those who love Malbec and want to explore this great grape a little further. Made by a small farmer's cooperative under sparkling sunshine, the grapes have been selected from the best vineyards where the beautiful African soil lends a soft spicy feel to the concentrated fruit. The result is a wine you'd be happy to have on your table everyday, and at this price, you can afford to.
Great Nose, Great Body, Pungent as a farmers foot, and goes delightfully with out of date chocolates. Fantastic

The Wine Maker Says...
Name:Frank Meaker Country:South Africa
Working within a cooperative meant that we were able to pick and choose the finest grapes from a combination of old and new vineyards. A very hot summer meant that fruit ripened quickly creating beautiful soft tannins, good colour and sun-ripe characters, which mellowed during the time spent in barrel.
This Malbec is a very dark ruby red colour with intense mulberry varietal spice, sweet liquorice and vanilla oak. It explodes in the middle palate, and has a very long lingering aftertaste. One of our favourites.
