Pensilva Estate Single Vineyard The Cross Single Vineyard Coonawarra White 2006 Australian White Wine
AWARDS (mouse over to view)
  • Classic Aussie excellence - a combination of fruit-laden usability and enough serious wine pedigree not to be embarrassed at a dinner party.
  • Pensilva is offering some of the best fruit-driven value in Oz at the moment without doubt. And where else can you get single vineyard stock for this price?
  • Oz is getting very expensive because of consistent drought conditions, hence little fruit. Buy now, as prices are only going one way!

We Say...

Steve Grimley, ever the roving winemaker and all round good bloke, has pulled another surprise out of the bag. Pensilva make really good, rich whites in an area normally reserved for Cabernet! Always the maverick, Steve went to one single vineyard to get exactly what he wanted.

Very good, and I say that as an ABC (Anything But Chardonnay) person as I don't usually like Aussie over-oaked chardonnays. This is an exception, and very enjoyable!

The Wine Maker Says...

Name: Steve Grimley
Country: Australia

Ripper vintage for whites. I might be mad here, but the Coonawarra really suits whites but is much more famous for reds. This is, hopefully, proof that I haven't completely lost it!
