"Very dark and juicy, with lots of fig and blackberry fruit backed by chocolate ganache, dark licorice, roasted vanilla bean and a long, structured finish where a nice hint of black tea chimes in. Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre." - Wine Spectator.
Perfect accompaniment to beef.

We Say...
Three Decanter Magazine Stars and a preliminary rating from the world's most influential critic, Mr Robert Parker, of 89-91/100 points says quite a lot more about this wine than we could. But we're still going to say it anyway - this is a fantastic wine, perfect with a healthy slab of beef.

For the price and considering what I have come to expect from a Chateauneuf du Pape especially the other 2005 vintages I have tasted I was left a little dissapointed by this. Still an excellent wine I suppose just didnt deliver what I expected. A little bland compared to others of the same vintage.
Andrew
Decant this 24 hours before drinking to get the rich fruity beauty of this excellent wine
Tim
Excellent.
Henry
Lovely rich wine, loads of taste going on and a long finish, it will also get better in time (which might push it up to 5 stars) and an absolute bargain on the auctions.
John
I loved it.
James
Disappointing for the price. Not much depth, harsh finish.
Mark
Very Nice, but overated and over priced. Worth the auction price but not the list price.
The Wine Maker Says...
Name:Francois and Marie Giraud Vineyard:Chateauneuf du Pape Country:France
We are blessed with 22.5 hectares of the finest vineyards in Châteauneuf du Pape, spread out over sixty different sites. These are planted with extremely old vines and are a mixture of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre and Cinsault. When harvesting everything is done by hand and once they've been made into wines they are matured for four months in new and older oak casks. Our care has recently seen us voted the third best domaine in all Châteauneuf by a leading French wine magazine.
