Miudino Albarino 2008

Muidino Albarino - Spanish White Wine
AWARDS (mouse over to view)
  • So good the Spanish keep most of it to themselves, and what little they export costs a fortune.
  • From the cooler climate of North West Spain, Rias Baixas.
  • Great with everything from the fish dishes it traditionally partners back in Spain, to spicy Asian food or Tortilla chips and salsa!

We Say...

Fruity, zesty and light but bone-dry with bright acidity, Albarino is a well-kept secret of the fishing capital of Spain, Rias Baixas. Its refreshing citrus and tropical fruit aromas are balanced neatly by mineral overtones and a good structure. You can even age them for up to three years. The Spanish say "it goes with everything, or nothing", so experiment a little and try it with Tapas, or fish, or drink it all on its own. All hail Albarino.

The Wine Maker Says...

Country: Spain

We've been delighted to see the explosion in interest in Albarino over the last few years, for it justifies our own faith in what is really great varietal. On our vineyards it receives all the heat it needs to ripen, but owing to the cool effect of the mountain breezes it is cooled sufficiently to enjoy a long ripening period. When it is ready, it is hand picked and, in the winery it is given time to ferment slowly. It is then tasted and re-tasted until we know it is ready for the table.
