It's got more fruit than Convent Garden, more spice than your local Tandoori and more charm than your average snake charmer. Once you've tried this grape, you'll be a fan for life.
If you fancy trying something completely different, then this is the wine for you! Mad as a bicycle it nevertheless will leaving you smiling and reaching for more.
Amelia Pinsent of Country Life says "Enjoy with Asian-influenced dishes, foie gras and chicken liver pate. This gem has a rosewater and lychee perfume"
We Say...
Gewurztraminer literally means 'spicy grape' and if your nose works at all you'll soon see why. Undoubtedly the most powerfully scented white grape. Buckle up and prepare for the Turkish Delight, rose petals and spice ride. As far as bottles of wine go - this is a God amongst Mortals.
Gave to a friend so only got a wee taste so ordering another!

It has the beautiful Gewurz taste but is a little too sweet for me. I would happily serve this as a great dessert wine.

Sables et Galets Gewurztraminer shows lovely balance of ripeness, varietal purity and finesse (i.e. not overblown and flabby like some). Fragrant rose-petal/water and grapefruit aromas with a hint of sweet spice. Rich and pineappley, but with a fine structure and complexity. Spicy, juicy fruit and acidity combine well to finish. A perfect partner to most Asian influenced dishes and will take a mild curry too!
