If you love that zingy, citrus taste that wines like the Reserve's little sister, the Private Bin, gives you, then you'll adore this.
Try it along side a Thai green chicken curry.
An all round customer favourite.
We Say...
It's no wonder this is so difficult to get your hands on these days. One taste of the tropical fruit flavours and big, bold citrus zest that are the hallmarks of this top NZ Sauvignon make it abundantly clear that this is staking its claim as one of, if not the top Kiwi Sauvignons. A classic wine that deserves some pretty classic seafood.
Good wine, if a little expensive. Would buy it again though.
Anna
Average, wouldn't go for it again due to price
Geoff
Very nice, dry but very pleasant.
Sandra

Top notch, crisp feels like quality
Julia

Wow this is the best Sauvignon we have ever tasted, cheap at this price.
Brian
Tried this in New Zealand. Thought Villa Maria was the porest of the vinyards we visted. (The best was Forrest).
Andrew
The zingy citrus taste is exactly right. The top Kiiwi Sauv claim is a bit OTT. I'd buy it again as it is a good wine.

If you love typical Kiwi Sauvignons, just like they used to be in all trendy wine bars of the mid 1990's, then you'll love this. But for me, it's a bit too green and a bit too tropical.
Only produced from the best vineyards in New Zealand's top wine growing areas to ensure they exhibit the finest regional characteristics possible. Wines must be of exceptional quality to justify the 'Reserve' marque.
Clifford Bay's cooling influence has an intensifying effect upon varietal flavours from vineyards at the eastern end of the Awatere Valley. This wine shows powerful aromas of currants, wild grass and fresh lime.
