The weather is the reason why last year's bordeaux is a particularly good variety of drink.
While we are just getting excited about the sunshine appearing, it seems that the mild conditions of last summer may be the reason behind the classic taste of 2010's red bordeaux wines.
Patrick Schmitt, writing for The Drinks Business, said August's cool nights have produced a wine that has a high level of acidity, tannin and alcohol.
"This year's bordeaux is considered more classic, primarily as a result of the greater diurnal temperature range during the summer," he said.
Those who love their reds as well as their whites will be glad to hear that this is the case for both types of wine, with Mr Schmitt noting that many commentators compare the 2010 drink to great vintages of 1989, 1995 and 1996.
Those who can't wait to try a 2010 variety, can try Chateau Roc de Pelllebouc Grand Vin de Bordeaux 2009, which has rich flavours of fruits, with a hint of spice.
