Crack open a bottle of rose wine at Halloween

Halloween may be a great time to enjoy some delicious rose wine, according to Olly Smith.

He described in the Daily Mail how much he enjoys popping open a bottle of rose wine on the spookiest night of the year and lauded the variety available.

"These days rose comes in all shapes and sizes, from hearty, butch beauties that are so full of colour they're practically red wine through to delicate salmon-pink pale examples," remarked Mr Smith.

In his opinion, Halloween is a time for drinking surprising and quirky wines and rose has a nice "festive" colour about it that makes it ideal for the occasion.

The Daily Mail critic claimed that this type of tipple not only goes down a treat at parties, but also pairs well with a variety of foods.
