There have been a lot of fisticuffs over Pinot Grigio. Basically the Italians can't make as much as we all want to drink. But we have managed to come out on top. While everyone else was playing around with their calculators, we went and bought our wine before the vintage was finished. And it turns out we got a great price too.
A gorgeous 50/50 blend of grapes: Tempranillo (the backbone of Rioja) and Bobal (perfectly suited to the regions climate). Restricting the grape yields has ensured this wine has excellent levels of fruit character. This rich, dark, untamed red is at its best when opened an hour before serving: "...watch as the spicy red plum and leather notes expand in the glass." Matthew Jukes.
I have searched and searched for the rosé that I want (selfish I know). That pretty, pale pink, light, tiny-bit-sweet but devastatingly, mouthwateringly, refreshing rosé. And now I've found it. The young Languedoc gun of a winemaker, Jean Marie, may have eyebrows that caterpillars are sexually drawn to, but by 'eck he can make wine. Especially rosé. And I just LOVE it.
This is a Chilean take on top-flight Bordeaux. A rich and textured Cabernet at it's best, with beautiful sweet oak flavours to complete a quite sensational package. Lavish and decadent, we believe there's no finer.
Made by New Zealand's Winemaker of the Year 2000 in Marlborough (home to Cloudy Bay). Anaru's pedigree is matched only by its sensational customer ratings. A hero wine with fresh, vibrant, leap out of the glass flavours.
