If you enjoy good Chianti and Uncle Buffty is coming round to check out your cellar, then why not invest in a bottle of this fine Sangiovese. Not only will you be able to confound the duffer with your tremendously eclectic tastes, you'll also have a wonderful bottle of raspberry and dark cherry flavours to look forward to, with a dash of cinnamon thrown in for free. You'd be mad to ignore this opportunity.
This is not a quaffing wine. This is a wine to savour with your tortellini and pecorino. A dashing, classical wine of the highest order from the finest spots on the Tuscan hillsides. Dark cherry, raspberry and sweet violets accent the restrained complexity from a particularly talented winemaker, Leonardo Bellacini. A Chianti Classico that is genuinely a cut above the rest.
The production of this delightful rosé was limited to just 850 cases and we've snapped up the lot. Made from a single block of Sangiovese, a variety more keenly associated with Italy and the wines of Chianti, however, it is planted in selected sites in Oz and this dry cherry-laced rosé takes advantage of one of these. Enjoy this wine in the garden whenever the sun comes out or with a mildly spiced Thai dish of an evening. A real treat for fans of Aussie and rosé wines alike.
The man responsible for this blend is Jake Woodhouse, a young Englishman with wide winemaking experience in the New World especially. Velvety Montepulciano combines with the intensely rustic Chianti main act, Sangiovese and a touch of softening Merlot in this crowd pleasing blend. Deliberately unoaked, it is a rich purple in the glass and brims with deep, extracted fruit notes? generous and satisfying.
This exciting Italian red brings together three world-famous grape varieties with the aim simply to create an uncomplicated easy drinking red suitable for all occasions. We often find that the wines available to us can be hard going - whether they be too heavy, too tannic or any combination of the other hundreds of reasons why some wines just don't work!
