A few years ago Patrocinio were commissioned to produce a very specific, prestigious Rioja for a well known hotel chain. Only select bunches of the best fruit, from the oldest, best situated vineyards was to be used and aged in French and American barrels from top coopers. Expensive to make and very lavish and rich in style, as requested by the client. Between its inception and release Spain has had a few issues - this wine being a casualty. But we've snapped it up and it needs a good home.
What can we tell you about Rioja that you don't already know? Spain pre-eminent wine region has long held the crown, producing wines that were aged both in cask and bottle, according to a rigid quality scheme, to deliver the utmost seduction. This wine was a millstone around winemaker Fernando's neck, one that we were only too happy to snap up.

So impressed have we been with the wines from the guys at Finca Manzanos that we've decided to bring you their full range! Their Crianza may abide by local governing laws but has a really great modern feel to it. Juicy on the palate with concentrated wild, red fruits, floral nuances with vanilla and cinnamon spice too.

From low lying vineyards on the hills of Castile-La Mancha, Central Spain, this fine wine lives up to the giants of the region. You could opt for a bottle of Rioja but, frankly, you're getting more for your money in this expertly made cuvée.
