A wine inspired by the shipwrecks of Cape Agulhas, and the cool, crisp style of wine that this region is capable of producing. We've watched this wine change and grow over the past few months; every tasting has been a surprise, and each surprise is more pleasant and revealing than the last! There is virtually no buttery character; rather, heady flavours of citrus fruit, marmalade and toffee'd pear come to the fore with crisp, Bramley apple acidity and touches of lemon and coconut.
The Western Cape is a veritable smorgasbord of climatic pockets, biodiversity and geology. Because of this it is vitally important that the right 'terroir' is found for each wine style. The Cape naturally lends itself to soil specific wines, an almost completely unexplored pursuit. But here's one!
Classic organic Chilean Chardonnay: bright as a pin and full of character. Intense, floral tropical delights on the palate followed by a delicious flavourful burst of crisp citrusy fruit, this is a wonderful accompaniment to roast chicken.
A Chardonnay named after the winemaker's habit of shooting off arrows to relax after working tirelessly on a vintage. Things apparently get a bit medieval in Western Australia in the wee small hours after a couple of Chardonnays! All that dangerous work has produced a stunning wine worth losing yourself to!
From the incredibly special Stellenbosch region, crafted by truly talented winemaker, Adi Badenhorst. Not only is this Chardonnay an ideal Sunday lunch sipper, but its mineral concentration and aromas are unique, plus it's also perfect for ageing - whatever tickles your fancy!
