Top winemaker (and bloke) Vincent Boutin is the man behind this superb cuvée and where so many others fail, he succeeds. Delivering a wine that not only offers the personification of a natural balance between sweet and tart, but maintains a direct relationship with the soil the grapes come from through precise minerality.
With a combination of rolling, lush green countryside, sprawling vineyards and classic French cuisine, the Loire Valley is a wonderful place to visit. As a whole it's a region of diversity that is highlighted by both Chenin Blanc and Vouvray itself. From stunning sparklers to super sweets - Chenin and Vouvray has the lot and top winemaker, Vincent Boutin, has the skill to prove it.
Type: Chenin Blanc
An insanely good super-clean and refreshing Vouvray Demi Sec from the brilliant Francois Chainier that cannot fail to impress. With apricots, honey and smooth minerality it's heaven served with any fish dish.
Type: Chenin Blanc
2009 was about as wonderful a vintage as the Loire has ever seen and Francois Chainier certainly took full advantage with this simply superb white. Honeyed and luscious coupled with bracing acidity this is one to buy by the car load.
Type: Chenin Blanc
Stellenbosch is massively over-rated as a wine region. However, there are ridges and pockets of vines that are truly spectacular, meaning that finding the right parcel of fruit (like this one) is paramount. A preciously pure tribute to both region and winemaking skill.
