He has taken the ne'er-perfected-in-Oz Bordeaux blend of Semillon and Sauvignon and used the very gentlest of handling to create a wine with a lovely textured feel and all of the exuberance of good, ole Antipodean sunshine. This is a wine of vitality to enjoy on its own, with friends.
This great Bordeaux blend hails from Western Australia and was populated by loaded hobbyists, typically doctors, in the 60s. Oh, how things have changed. It's now the uber-cool, boutique vineyard area of choice and home to loads of Australia's most sought after wines. Most of this evolution is driven by people, rather than anything fundamentally changing in the soil or the atmosphere, or methods used in the winery.
