• This lovely looking Spanish red is made from three stalwart Spanish varieties, Garnacha, Samsó and Tempranillo.
• A wicked, godsend of a vintage, delivering perfect balance and ripeness.
• We were granted exclusive access to the Les Taules vineyards where some very fine vines sit on a bedrock of pure slate.

For many years now Jurgen has made wines that over-deliver on quality...sometimes delivering a few too many bangs per buck (yes, it is possible!). We wanted to capture the wild nature of the boutique area he works within and the wonderful purity, variety and terroir that is Capcanes' hallmark. We think the 2010 has done it. The predominant flavour is red fruit and there is a meaty, herbal twang behind the scenes, reinforcing this wine's regional authenticity. Try cellaring if you can stifle your excitement.

Les Taules comes from the dramatic rock amphitheatre of Montsant and surrounds the uber-chic Priorat. The nature of this place is characterised by rocky outcrops of granite and slate. The wines produced here are always indelibly marked by this extreme provenance, so expect wines with purity, expression and Mediterranean warmth. This creation from Jurgen is not a heavyweight as the varietals suggest, but it certainly is a wine with undeniable charm and intensity.
