The Flyboat Old Bush Vine Pinotage Shiraz 2012

The Flyboat Old Bush Vine Pinotage Shiraz 2012

  • Love Aussie Shiraz? Then this is right up your street
  • Pinotage, South Africa's signature grape, adds an extra dimension to give a turbo-charged, juicy giant of a wine
  • Outstanding value from this up and coming wine country.

Pinotage is South Africa's own grape variety. And it almost never was. In 1925 only 4 seeds existed and they were nearly destroyed. But luck won out and they were saved. Now Pinotage is recognised as South Africa's signature variety. This velvety, intense blend with Shiraz really is the best of both worlds. With the plummy, berry flavours of Pinotage complemented by the spicy intensity of a top-drawer Shiraz this is a unique experience - and you'll love it.

Next to the vineyards that provide the grapes for this blend, sits a devilish bridge. This in turn is a devilish blend of supple Grenache, smooth and silky Carignan and jammy, spicy Shiraz producing a rich, warm, spicy gem of a wine.
